Talking to journalists here at Bahauddin Zakariya University on Tuesday, he said that a person, who was ineligible to become member of Parliament, should not be chosen as party president.

He said that Pakistan has rendered tremendous sacrifices in the war against terror and the US would have to recognise Pakistan’s sacrifices. “We hope that the Prime Minister will present Pakistan’s viewpoint properly,” he added. He said that Pakistan is a true well-wisher of Afghanistan, adding that Afghanistan’s future is linked with Pakistan. “We welcome American foreign minister in Pakistan, and hope that Tillerson’s visit will make America realise that Pakistan has rendered numerous sacrifices,” he expressed optimism. MUFTI QAVI SHIFTED TO

POLICE STATION

The police shifted cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi, who is currently on a four-day physical remand, to Chehlyak Police Station for interrogation on Tuesday as he was discharged from Multan Institute of Cardiology. Police sources revealed that he would be taken to Lahore for poly-graphic test on Wednesday (today).

Mufti complained of chest pain and congestion soon after his arrest on October 18. Although the court had given him into police custody on a four day physical remand, he was shifted to cardiology hospital where his angiography was done by the doctors. Police could not quiz Mufti due to his medical condition. The court extended his physical remand for four more days on Monday.

The cleric was indicted into the case under sections 302 and 109 on the request of Qandeel’s father, Muhammad Azeem. The social media celebrity was strangled by her real brother on July 16, 2016 in the name of honour. Although the murderer Waseem confessed to his crime, police suspected that Mufti provoked him to commit this crime.
