LAHORE - Former president and President PPP-P Asif Ali Zardari yesterday made a big announcement in Lahore claiming he will change the political scenario in Punjab in a big way ahead of the next general elections.

“People should wait for big announcements from him in the coming days”, he said while talking to a delegation of party ticket holders from Sargodha at Bilawal House Lahore here on Tuesday.  The delegation included Tasnim Ahmed Qureshi, Malik Khalid Awan, Malik Rizwan Asif, Malik Khalid Dad, Naeem Sadiq, Sajjad Khan Baloch and Malik Anwer Baloch. Former Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf was also present on the occasion.

Zardari asserted that many big political personalities from Punjab were in contact with him to join the party. “The PPP will not only form its government in the Centre it will also form government in Punjab after victory in the next general elections.” he said.

Talking about the recent arrest of Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon, the PPP leader said that accountability should be across the board and there should be one law applied to everyone.

“Sharif family should be treated like PPP has been treated. PPP will not accept VIP accountability of Sharif family.” he observed, adding, that smaller provinces were getting wrong message by VIP accountability of the Sharifs.  He instructed party office-bearers, ticket holders and workers to support and strengthen PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s efforts to win the next elections as PPP is going to form government in Center as well as in the provinces. Zardari said that PML-N government had destroyed country’s economy and thousands of Pakistanis had to return home from abroad due to failed foreign policy of this government.

He said that people got relief whenever PPP was in power while they suffered a lot in the tenures of the PML-N. He said that PPP was a pro-people party whereas other parties had anti-people agenda.

The former President said that people currently burdened by the price hike and unemployment will get relief again when the PPP comes into power after the elections.
