LAHORE - A police official died under mysterious circumstances during a raid in Data Darbar police precincts on Wednesday.

Sub-inspector Waris Ali was present at the Data Darbar police station when his condition got deteriorated, all of a sudden. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced as brought dead.

On the other hand, police sources revealed that the official along with a police team raided a house where he scuffled with a group of people. During the scuffle, his condition got deteriorated and he was rushed to hospital where he expired. The police were investigating the death.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for sub-inspector Waris Ali were held at the Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh on Wednesday evening. Senior police officers including Lahore CCPO attended the funeral prayers.

A police spokesman said Waris Ali who joined the police service in 1981 as Constable was promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspector in 2014. Presently, he was serving at Data Darbar police station as additional-SHO.
