Rs2m cash recovered, 5 outlaws held in Peshawar operation

Peshawar - Five outlaws linked to two different gangs of dacoits were arrested and Rs2 million looted cash amount, weapons and other items were recovered from them, police said on Sunday.

SP City Attique Shah said that the besides the looted money, several motorbikes and 30 mobile phones were also recovered from the arrestees.

“During interrogations, they confessed to their crimes. They used to loot real estate dealers, traders and would also attack those taking money from banks,” the official said.

The arrestees, identified as Moinuddin Qureshi, Inam Gul, Yaqoob, Khyal Malik and Asad, were rounded up in the precincts of Bhanamari and Faqeerabad police stations. “The arrestees have also divulged the names of their other accomplices, who would also be arrested soon,” the official said.
