PESHAWAR The services of the Malik Saad Shaheed Sports Trust (MSSST) for the promotion of sports are really commendable, said Inspector General Police Khyber PK Fiaz Khan Toru while recording his impressions in the visitors book at the Central Office of the MSSST at CPO. Former IGP Khyber PK and Chairman MSSST Malik Naveed Khan, Additional IGP Operations Abdul Latif Gandapur, Additional IGP Headquarters Khalid Masood, Additional IGP Syed Wadood Shah and members board of trustees Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi, Mazhar-ul-Haq, Haji Qabeel Sher Afridi, Syed Ali Nawaz Gilani, Tajamul Hayat Malik and secretary MSSST Amjad Aziz Malik were also present on the occasion. Fiaz paid rich tributes to Shaheed Malik Saad and termed him a great son of the soil who was also first martyr in the year 2007 while on duty. He also paid tribute to late Safat Ghayur, Abid Ali and other police officers who embraced martyrdom while on duty. Fiaz appreciated the MSSST activities which established 23 academies of various sports in 14 districts of the province. He added that sports play vital role in the development of a society. He also commended MSSST chairman Malik Naveed Khan, secretary Amjad Aziz Malik and all the members of the board of trustees for their services. He also accepted the co-chairmanship of the MSSST. He said that the MSSST had already established academes in Swabi, Buner, Mardan, Swat, Lower Dir, Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Peshawar and Bannu. He was briefed about the recently held MSSST Inter-academy Hockey Tournament in Abbottabad wherein all the district teams participated. He was also briefed about MSSST educational scholarship plan for the brilliant student of the government institution of all the eight educational boards of the province. These special scholarships will be named after late Safat Ghayur, Shaheed Abid Ali, Shaheed Khan Raziq and other police officers who sacrificed their lives for duty.
