LAHORE - The leaders of recently formed alliance of three Muslim Leagues including PML-Q (Like-Minded), PML (Zia) and PML (Functional) held a consultative meeting to discuss the possibilities for forging an alliance with other factions of Muslim Leagues and to review the current political situation keeping in view the debates regarding change of guard in the incumbent set up. The meeting took place on Friday at the residence of Humayun Akhtar Khan, Secretary General PML-Q (Like-Minded), while Pir Sadar-ud-Din Rashidi represented the PML (Functional), Ijaz-ul-Haq, president PML (Zia) represented his faction and Senator Saleem Saif Ullah, President Like-Minded headed his faction in the meeting. Jehangir Khan Tareen and Makhdom Ahmed Mehmood were also present in the meeting, while the leaders of three Muslim Leagues had also got the inputs of Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim from Dubai by his telephonic participation in the meeting. When contacted Gauher Ayub Khan, a senior leader of the Muslim League who could not reach to attend the meeting, told this scribe that he had been consulted on telephone regarding ways and means for forging an alliance with other factions of the Muslim Leagues and on the current political situation in the backdrop of the possibilities regarding change of guard in the incumbent set up through midterm polls or national government. Meanwhile, sources in the alliance of three Muslim Leagues have disclosed that the meeting had decided to give lead role to PML (Functional) Chief Pir of Pagaro for forging an alliance among the various factions of the Muslim Leagues, while a public announcement regarding giving a lead role to Pir Pagaro would be made after a meeting with PML (Functional) Chief in Karachi. When asked about the possibilities of unification of the all the factions of the Muslim Leagues, they quoting senior leaders of their alliance as saying that at the moment they were only struggling for a greater alliance with other factions of Muslim Leagues, however, the question of unification among the same could be considered at a later stage keeping in view the contacts and level of trust among the various factions of the Muslim Leagues. When contacted Mian Asif, secretary information Like-Minded Punjab regarding giving a lead role to Pir Pagaro for a greater, he confirmed that at the moment the alliance of three Muslim Leagues was contending for a larger alliance with other factions of Leagues, however the future political events might turn the tide in favour of unification. He also said that the issue of the unification depends on the attitude and response of other factions of Muslim Leagues, as the alliance of three Muslim Leagues could not decide it alone. smooth flow of traffic on Ring Road Chief Traffic Officer Cap (r) Syed Ahmed Mobeen has said that the completed portion of under-construction Ring Road has been divided into three traffic sectors in order to maintain smooth traffic flow. In an official communiqu here Friday, it was informed that six inspectors, 180 traffic wardens, five vehicles, 22 heavy bikes, 44 motorbikes, and 66 wardens had been deployed in three shifts for 24 hours in the said sectors. The SSP Traffic said that two speed guns had also been installed in the said sectors to avoid any untoward incident. He said that strict directions would be taken against wardens found guilty or involved in corruption. As per division, the sectors start from Babu Sabu Interchange to Malipura/Mian Munshi Hospital, Malipura to Harbanspura Intercha-nge, and third from Harba-nspura Interchange to Sahej Pal Chowk.
