ISLAMABAD (APP) - President Asif Zardari Friday appreciated the Chinese leadership and its people for their generous support and assistance for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affectees. Talking to Chinese Ambassador Liu Jian who called on the President at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Zardari said Chinas additional assistance of $200 million for flood affectees speaks of mutual cooperation and strong bonds between the two governments and their people. Matters relating to bilateral relations between the two countries and Chinese assistance for the flood affected were also discussed during the meeting. He said the govt would welcome technical assistance and invited Chinese companies to participate in rebuilding the damaged infrastructure and assured that the govt would facilitate them. The Chinese govt besides initial emergency humanitarian assistance and recent additional assistance of $ 200m also provided medical, food and other supplies to the flood affected in Gilgit-Baltistan and other parts of Pakistan. Ambassador Liu Jian assured the continued support of Chinese government for the relief and rehabilitation of flood victims.
