3.5-kg heroin, hashish seized in Sargodha

OUR STAFF REPORTER SARGODHA - The police Saturday sized almost 2.5-kg of heroin from drug traffickers in different raids. According to detail, the police arrested a woman identified as Matloob Bibi from village Lak, and seized 1,080-gram of heroin from her possession. In another raid at Boonga Minhas, an accused namely Safder Lak managed to flee from the spot after dropping 1075-gram hashish. Similarly, the Kotmomin Police arrested Muhammad Akram Qureshi and Zafar Iqbal, residents of Kotmomin, and recovered 1,394-gram of heroin from their possession. Meanwhile, Sillanwali Police arrested Muhammad Anwar Rajput of Gulshan Wazeer Colony, Mureed Hussain Muslim Sheikh of Vijh, Abdul Hassan Rajput of Muqam-e-Hayat and Kashif Shehzad of Chak No 127/NB, respectively and seized 12 imported liquor bottles from them. Police have registered cases against the culprits. LOCOMOTIVE FAILS: The locomotive of Karachi-Havailian bound Hazara Express failed near Mitha Lak Railway Station on Saturday, jamming the train there for several hours. The irked passengers shouted slogans against railway authorities and government as they had to wait in hot weather. Afterwards the substituted power sent from the Sargodha Railway Station and the train set off for its destination again.
