OUR STAFF REPORTER AHMEDPUR EAST - The Punjab government has deprived the city Ahmedpur Easts constituency PP-268 of its due share in the allocation of funds for the TMA development schemes and shifted its Rs12.5m grant to two other nearby areas PP-267 and PP-269 being represented by PML-Q Forward Block member M Syed Iftikhar Hassan Gillani and PML-N MPA Jehanzeb Warran, it was learnt here the other day. As per detail, an amount of Rs60M was earmarked for the development schemes which would be implemented by TMA in current financial year but reportedly Punjab govt shifted the funds to its 'favourites MPA as PP-268 is represented by opposition benches PPP MPA Sahibzada M Gazain Abbasi. A joint delegation of PML-N and representatives of Trade Union of Ahmedpur East headed by Mian M Younas and Shehzad Suhail Khakwani met Bahawalpur DCO Dr Naeem Rauf in his office in this regard and protested on this decision. The DCO told the delegation that Chief Minister had issued a directive about the distribution of funds hence District Administration was not authorised to intervene in it. However he assured the delegation that pending sewage line work and Railway Road would be constructed soon.
