KARACHI (APP) - The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has criticised the KESC for resuming load-shedding in the industrial areas. According to a statement issued here Saturday, KCCI President Muhammad Saeed Shafiq along with chairman, Sindh Board of Investment and former president KCCI Zubair Motiwala observed that whenever there is shortfall in gas supply, the KESC resorts to massive load-shedding allegedly to blackmail the Government. Despite knowing the energy demand of the industry, the KESC continues load-shedding, the KCCI President said. The KESC Saturday re-started load-shedding with hours ranging four each in two phases. They further pointed out that the KESC was itself a defaulter of SSGC and PSO and puts forward lame excuses for load shedding. The business leaders said consumers are paying their dues on time and KESC is not paying its dues to SSGC and PSO. They appealed to the government to take immediate step before another circular debt is created which would ultimately becomes a liability of the Government.
