Our Staff Reporter MIRPUR (AJK) - AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed Saturday reiterated to continue reconciliation policy of the Pakistan Peoples Party in AJK irrespective of the result of bye-election in LA-29 Muzaffarabad-III, saying the policy was not meant for any single constituency but will be practiced across the state. Majeed, also President of the ruling Peoples Party AJK, was addressing a meeting of the PPPs lawmakers and party workers here in Muzaffarabad on Thursday. The premier expressed satisfaction over peaceful, free and fair bye-election in states capital, reaffirming to propagate reconciliation policy of Co-Chairman PPP and Pakistani President Zardari in the best interest of the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. Addressing the meeting, he maintained that these elections show that PPP believes in free will of the people and has come into power through fair polls though the Punjab government has sabotaged the mandate of the people in the constituencies in Punjab. He said that the PPP was committed to resolve the Kashmir dispute in consonance with the wishes of Kashmir people. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Banzir Bhutto have offered their lives for reinstating democracy and the PPP government will ensure it for the prosperity and development of people through sustainable policy, he added. A resolution was also passed, presented by PPP AJK Vice President Khawaja Farooq Ahmad, expressing confidence in the leadership of Co-Chairman and President Zardari, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur. They also reposed trust in AJK PM Ch Abdul Majeed, congratulating him for taking all the measures and ensured conducting free and fair election in peaceful manner. The legislators and party workers condemned the PML-N demand for mid terms elections, terming it an insult to the mandate of the people. The meeting was attended by the AJK ministers - Ch Latif Akbar, Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi, Sardar Javed Ayub, Ch Rasheed, Raja Faisal Mumtaz, Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, Syed Azhar Gellani, Mian Waheed, Abdul Salam, members of the legislative assembly and party workers in majority. University approves budget: The Finance and Planning Committee of the University of AJK in its meeting approved the annual budget of Rs903.163 million for the fiscal year 2011-12, it was officially announced. An AJK varsity official proclamation issued here Saturday said that Dr Ghulam Ghous, Director Finance and Planning / Secretary Committee presented the budget which included Rs121.038m for development. VC Dr Habibur Rehman chaired the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, he lauded the efforts made by the HEC for the provision of funds to the universities, despite strangulation of funds. He said that the university is striving hard for academic excellence under the umbrella of HEC and its guidelines and its policies have been implemented in letter and spirit. The meeting was attended among others by HEC Director General (Finance) Ghulam Mujtaba Kayani, Registrar Dr M Qayum Khan, Dr Dilnawaz Ahmed Gardezi, Dr Raja Nasim Akhtar, Dr M Sabir Khan and Dr M Haleem Khan.
