PESHAWAR Police have arrested three persons during a crackdown and seized a huge cache of arms from a Godown here in Karkhano Market. Talking to journalists, DSP Karkhano Circle Rahim Shah Khan said that after receiving a tip off the police conducted a raid on a warehouse in Karkhano Market and recovered a huge cache of weapons most probably to be smuggled to Punjab and Sindh for terrorist activities. He said two of the three arrested persons were from Afghanistan, adding that they had been shifted to lockup for further interrogation. APP adds: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police conducted combing operation in various districts of the province and booked 47 outlaws besides recovering ammunition and drugs from their possession. According to a press release issued here on Saturday, police conducted operation at Peshawar, Charsadda and Nowshera. During operation, police arrested five proclaimed offenders and 18 outlaws from Peshawar, one proclaimed offender and 10 outlaws from Charsadda and five POs and eight criminals from Nowshera district. Police also recovered three kalashnikovs, two kalakovs, six rifles, 17 pistols, and hundreds of cartridges. Three kilograms hashish and four bottles of liquor were also recovered during the operation.
