LAHORE Security forces have picked up three ex-army men during successful raids carried out in Okara district and shifted them to some unknown location for further interrogation, it was reliably learnt on Saturday. Sources disclosed to TheNation said a good number of security personnel, both in uniform and plainclothes, conducted an armed raid at Hvaily Road in Hujra Shah Muqeem, some 150-kilometer away from Okara. They arrested Sakhi Muhammad from his residence. Sakhi retired from the military some 15 years ago. The man has been shifted to some unknown location for further interrogation, a source said, but did not mention further details. Earlier a team of security force raided the residence of Sakhis next-door-neighbour and arrested his friend, also a retired official of Pakistan Rangers. The Ranger official is also being interrogated at some unknown location. Sources revealed that both the men were picked up after the security personnel raided the same area some six months ago and took retired army official, Muhammad Afzaal, into custody. Afzaal got retirement from Pakistan Army some 12 years ago. The family members of the ex-army men are worried about their whereabouts and they have lodged complaints with the District Police Officer (DPO), Okara, urging the police to trace the 'missing persons. A close family member of Afzaal told this scribe that the police had straightforwardly refused to take any action on their complaint. He said the three retired military officials were still missing and no one knew about their whereabouts. According to the local residents, a blue flashing-light fitted jeep and another latest model van were used in the raids which were carried out in broad daylight to capture the alleged suspects.
