The police have adopted stringent security measures following twin suicide blast in a Peshawar church and augment police deployment at five churches situated in the district to avert any untoward incident. The police have also asked the priests and other officials and leaders of the Christian community to intimate the law enforcement agency prior to their movement.

In this regard, DCO Farasat Iqbal Chaudhry along with DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar held a meeting with the leaders of minorities, heads of different political as well as religious parties to sympathise with the Christian community and assure them of foolproof security, especially in the aftermath of the Peshawar church attack.

On the occasion, the DCO appreciated the patience and tolerance demonstrated by the Christian community and their leadership. “The lesson of patience given by the Jesus Christ is a guideline for the entire humanity, adding that no religion, society or law allowed killing of innocent people particularly that of the women and children.

He pointed out that the tragedy had left the entire nation in shock, adding that Islam always taught peace and cohesion and abhor any anti-humanity act. Speaking on the occasion, DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar urged upon the masses to keep a vigilant eye on the activities of the suspected elements to foil their nefarious designs.

Meanwhile, all missionary schools and colleges remained closed for second day on Tuesday to mourning the death of 83 innocent worshipers including women and children. Students of La-salle Higher Secondary School also staged a demonstration to condemn twin blasts.
