Islamabad - A solo exhibition will open here today (Thursday) at Tanzara Gallery, showcasing the recent works of acclaimed artist Aqeel Solangi.

The exhibition titled “Tactile Journeys” is a strong body of work with imagery steeped in mysticism that addresses itself through a soul-searching process. As the title of this show suggests, the paintings are a testimony of fleeting memories from the artist’s journey in time. Through this show one also sees the artists’ interest and inspiration while attending a residency workshop in China.

Aqeel Solangi, currently an art professor at the National College of Arts Rawalpindi, was the recipient of the NCA/Charles Wallace Pakistan Trust Art Bursary for the Prince’s School of Traditional Arts, London, in 2006.
