Islamabad - A local court yesterday granted bail to two arrested sons of Ghazi Abdul Rashid, the deceased cleric of Lal Masjid .

Judicial Magistrate Aamer Khalil granted bail to Haroon Rashid, Haris Rashid and one of their friends against the surety bonds worth of Rs 30,000 each.

Earlier, Kohsar police had arrested the two sons of Ghazi Abdul Rasheed, and one of their friends on the charges of possessing a military commando uniform and a pistol.

On Thursday, the federal capital police produced the arrested people before the judicial magistrate after the expiry of their one-day physical remand and requested the court to send them to jail on judicial remand since they did not need their further custody.

However, Tariq Asad Advocate and Wajiullah Advocate, the counsel for Lal Masjid Shohda Foundation, appeared before the court and submitted their bail application. In the application, they contended that all the sections included in the first information report (FIR) are about bailable offenses.

Therefore, they requested the court to grant bail to their clients.

The two brothers, Haris and Haroon along with their friend Asif were moving in F-6 sector of the capital when a joint team of police and Rangers, who were patrolling the area on late Tuesday night, intercepted their car and recovered a military commando uniform and a pistol. A first information report (FIR) was lodged against the three for possessing the uniform and a weapon at Kohsar police station under sections 170, 171, 188 and 13/20/65 of the PPC.
