Schoolchildren cry for water

LAHORE - Firozepur schoolchildren yesterday took to the streets for clean drinking water.

The children in uniforms along with their school principal and teachers held banners and posters lamenting the government. "We are forced to drink unclean water," the banners they held read.

The students said that sewerage water had mixed in the water pipeline at their school. As a result they were forced to drink unclean water, which was ruining their health. The school authorities claimed that they had been making a litany of complaints to authorities concerned but to no avail.

They added that police had asked them to end the protest otherwise a case under the anti-terror section will be registered against them.
