Classes at SCC from May 2: Wahla

SIALKOT - Regular classes will begin at Sialkot Cadet College near Pasrur on May 2, 2011, as all the necessary arrangements have been finalised in this regard. Commissioner Gujranwala Division Saeed Wahla disclosed this while talking to the newsmen during his visit to Sialkot Cadet College here. He said that 90 students had been enrolled in the college, recently established over 159 acres of land near Pasrur. He said that regular classes of 8th Grade would be started in the college from May 2, 2011. Briefing the visiting Commissioner, Project Director Rana Zahid Hussain told that about 12,650 feet long boundary wall around the college has yet to be constructed besides, the completion of Admin Block, 12 classrooms and two hostels for the students. He said that the total estimated cost of this project was Rs330 million, out of which Rs262 million have yet been spent on this project. The Commissioner was told that four grounds for the cadet college were designed but due to a lack funds the construction of any ground could not be started yet. The tub-well has already been installed for provision of potable water while electricity facility has been provided at the college. On the occasion, Commissioner Wahla directed DCO Mujahid Sher Dil to ensure early completion of all the under-construction projects before the start of academic session. He also directed the establishment of two grounds by the district administration on priority basis.
