Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that despite the court verdict sentencing the Prime Minister till the rising of the court, Yusuf Raza Gilani has not been disqualified. ‘The Prime Minister has not lost the moral authority for remaining in office and he would not resign” the interior minister remarked. Talking to media here Thursday, Rehman Malik condemned the demand by Mian Nawaz Sharif for resignation of the Prime Minister and in turn asked the PML-N Chief to seek apology from the apex court and Rtd Justice Sajjad Ali Shah for attack by his supports at the SC building. He said the Prime Minister has the right to appeal against the judgment and till a verdict on PM’s appeal, the judicial process would continue. He said he would not become Prime Minister inplace of Yusuf Raza Gilani. He also rejected the demand for early elections and said these would be held on schedule. He said if any one thinks that in the given situation, the government would pack up, it is his misunderstanding. Malik said the Prime Minister listened the court verdict with brave face and he would live in the history as a brave man.  He said the Prime Minister went to the court to seek justice and bowed his head in its honour. In reply to a question, the Interior Minister said despite court verdicts, the PPP government would continue to respect the judiciary.
