The families of a man and an eight-year-old boy who were shot dead by the owner of cable network staged a protest by placing the dead bodies on GT Road against the police inefficiency to register a case of the double murder and arrest the accused, causing worst traffic jam here on Saturday.
As per details, the family members of two deceased persons including Imran Haider and eight-year-old passerby boy Ameer Ali who were shot dead by the owner of local cable network Qamar Shah, accompanies of scores of people Labour Colony and adjacent localities staged a protest on GT Road. They blocked the road for all kind of traffic by placing the dead bodies on the road. The demonstrators chanted slogans against the Ferozewala Police for its apathy, claiming that the police had not yet registered a case of the double murder.
They demanded registration of a case against the accused and his immediate arrest.
MANAGER ROBBED: A factory manager was deprived of cash and other valuables on Lahore Road near Mandiali here. Imran Baig, manager of a local factory was on the way to Lahore when two unidentified highwaymen intercepted and deprived him of cash and other valuables. The police have started investigation.

Out of order water filtration plant installed at a local stadium, has virtually deprived the residents of the Jinnah Colony of the facility of clean drinking water.
The water filtration plant went out of order three months back but no step could be taken by the department concerned for its repair.
The residents of the area complained that the TMA did not bother to carry out regular cleaning of the plant. The residents are facing problems due to the negligence of authorities concerned. Filters have not been replaced on time since years, leaving the residents to drink unhygienic water from this plant. Residents complained that authorities concerned had failed to ensure cleanliness and replacement of the water filters and other necessary gadgets on time.
