LAHORE: Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said the demand of journalists for free medical facilities at government hospitals will be sympathetically considered.

He made this assurance during a meeting with a delegation of Desk Editors Forum, led by its president Aslam Chaudhry.  He said he was fully aware of health-related problems of journalists and would do his level best to solve them. Director General Health Dr Zahid Pervez and Deputy Director Public Relations Akhlaq Amed were also present on this occasion.

Khawaja Salman Rafique mentioned the government efforts to curb dengue and make the province polio-free by launching effective campaigns time and again. Similarly, he said, massive campaigns had been launched to eradicate measles from the province. He was confident that the province would be made healthy Punjab under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He said he believed in selfless service to the nation and revealed he was not drawing salary as the CM adviser.–PR
