Brig. Samsom Simon Sharaf’s column with the above title, The Nation April 25, 2015, is a beautiful analysis of the recent bye election in NA 246, Karachi. I am a great admirer of Imran Khan for his honesty and philanthropic ventures but the political acumen is somehow lacking. Some of his political advisers have their own vested interests while the organisational capabilities are miserably missing. I went to cast my vote in the 25th April local bodies election of Walton Cantonment Lahore but in spite of two attempts I was given incomplete/wrong particulars by the PTI volunteers and hence denied the right of vote by the polling staff. Being a working professional I gave up and came to my job. There was a complete confusion at the PTI camp in DHA. I am sure the situation in NA 246 constituency may not be very different. Mere singing and dancing by the youth cannot fetch the required votes.
