PML-N body reviews pace of uplift projects in KP

ISLAMABAD  - Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) Special Committee to monitor developments projects in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa met under the chair of Pir Sabir Shah and reviewed pace of work on a number of development projects initiated by the federal government in the province.
The committee was formed by Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif during his recent visit to the province to pace up work on these projects so that the people of the province could be provided with immediate benefits of these projects.
The committee with Senator Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and MNA Capt. (retd) Safdar as members met here in Islamabad and reviewed a number of projects relating to power generation sprucing up of communication network in the province.
Some of the projects reviewed by the committee included Siki Kanari hydel power project, expansion work on Tarbela 4 and 5, work on Chitral Tunnel, construction of Motorway from Burhan to D.I. Khan, construction of Motorway from Burhan to Havelian, Mardan-Sawat Expressway and a number of other development projects.
The members of the committee stressed the need for timely completion of these projects so that people could be provided with relief and better communication facilities.
The committee also discussed the construction of small dams and it was decided that more such dams would be constructed in the province which would help harvest water for both irrigation and power generation purposes.
It was further decided that the committee meeting would be called on regular basis so that they could effectively keep an eye on the progress of all these projects initiated by the federal government in the province.
