PESHAWAR - A single-member bench of Peshawar High Court on Tuesday reserved order till today (Wednesday) on petition pertaining to detention of three sons of Maulana Sufi Muhammad, the chief of defunct Tehrik-e-Nifaz-e-Shariah Muhammadi. Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan was hearing the petition filed by three sons of Sufi Muhammad - Rizwanullah, Ziaullah and Hayatullah - who have been detained at Central Prison Peshawar under section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). The counsel appearing for petitioners said that his clients along with Sufi Muhammad were arrested from their residence at Sethi Town, Peshawar, on July 27 by law enforcing agencies under MPO issued by the DCO concerned. He argued that detention of Sufi had so far not been challenged. The petitioners counsel contends that petitioners are innocent and the impugned order issued by the DCO is illegal and unconstitutional. He argued that the DCO Peshawar had issued a stereotype order lacking any solid ground for the arrest of the petitioners. The Additional Advocate General appearing for state said that petitioners were sons of a defunct organisations chief and were involved in reorganising TNSM in Peshawar. He added that some of the evidence available to administration had been placed on the record of the court, whereas some other dossier could not have been produced so far. The bench after hearing the parties reserved its judgement on the matter till today (Wednesday).
