LAHORE: The 16th session of Punjab Assembly is starting here today at 2 pm with Acting Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani in the chair.
According to the tentative schedule issued by the Punjab Assembly Secretariat, it is most likely to continue till September 15 and may be extended beyond this date if the need be.
The Assembly will not take up its routine business on Wednesday (today). The only agenda item it would be dealing with today is the passage of a resolution to pay tribute to gallantry and achievements of former Punjab Home Minister, Shuja Khanzada who was martyred along with 22 others in a suicide attack at his home town couple of weeks back.
During 15 sittings of the current session, the government intends to legislate on ordinances it had issued in the past two months on different subjects.
