LAHORE - The nation celebrated 132nd birth anniversary of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with national spirit and enthusiasm on Thursday. The national flag was hoisted at the government buildings throughout the country including Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. Special prayers were offered in the mosques after Fajir prayers for the soul of the Quaid-e-Azam and prosperity and development of the country. Government owned PTV, private television channels and Radio arranged special programmes on the life, achievements of the great leader. 31-gun salute at the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute at Provincial capitals was given to the founder of Pakistan. Number of political, social, cultural and educational organisations organised special ceremonies to mark the occasion. In Lahore, the PML-N arranged a seminar at Alhamra to mark the occasion. The speakers termed the PPP government in the centre continuity of Musharraf regime and pledged to ensure true public representation in Pakistan. They said that there was still one-man rule in the country who did not want the restoration of Constitution and judiciary in the country. They said that the PML-N was giving a time frame to the government to restore good governance and the judiciary in the country. Kh Saad Rafiq said the party gave preference to principles over getting power. He said that the PML-N was running provincial government strictly in accordance with the Constitution and PPP leadership should avoid ridiculing its mandate. He warned that if they tried to destabalise the provincial government, it would have dangerous consequences. He criticised the PPP government for appointing incompetent politicians while its ministers busy in selling of their job quotas. He termed Yousaf Haroon as ineligible for holding office in United Nations, which had resulted in the failure of Pakistan's foreign policy. He said the PML-N had learnt from its past history but the PPP was yet to learn any lesson. He said it was strange that the PPP had its own PM but they were reluctant to fully empower him. He said the PML-N was bringing amendment Bill which would empower the PM and the parliament. He said the policies of PPP government were tantamount to ridiculing the sacrifices of their workers. He said the PPP was still continuing with the same Election Commissioner, NAB was still operational and he failed to understand as what kind of change they had brought about. Mian Marghoob, Mian Mujtaba Shujjah-ur-Rehman, Bilal Yaseen, Malik Afzal Khokhar, Kh Imran Nazir, Sami-ud-Din and others also participated in the seminar. The PML-Q arranged a ceremony at the Muslim League House to mark the birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan. The PML-Q Lahore President Mian Muhammad Munir presided over the ceremony. The speakers stressed upon the need of making efforts to strengthen the country. They stressed upon the need of unification of different factions of Muslim League, which according to them would guarantee strengthening of the country according to the wishes of Quaid-e-Azam. They urged the govt to take courage and give a befitting reply to the Indian threats. Mian Munir, President Allama Iqbal Forum Azad Bin Haider and Senior Vice President Mian Sattar addressed the participants. Munir and other leaders cut the cake. Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan organised a seminar Quaid's Pakistan. Addressing the participants, Secretary General JUP Qari Zawar Bahadur said that Quaid-e-Azam wanted to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state.
