TOBA TEK SINGH / SIALKOT - The local Christian community here on Sunday celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm and religious fervour across the district.

In Gojra prayer was led by Bishop Jhon Samuel while a Muslim leader Muhammad Irfan cut Christmas cake as solidarity in church located in Kacha Gojra. Meanwhile the Christian community staged a protest demonstration over prolonged power outages due to which they failed to properly arrange Christmas functions.

SIALKOT: The Christian Community celebrated Xmas with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and fervour, amid tight security in the district’s all four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils, peacefully.

On the occasion, they urged the government to safeguard the rights and privileges of the minorities. The local Christian religious and political leaders said minorities have been playing their pivotal role in national progress, prosperity, peace and sovereignty of Pakistan. They revealed that the minorities had also rendered precious sacrifices for the country when it came into being after getting freedom from British yoke.

Car stolen: Thieves drove away a car from the Saddar bazaar here on Saturday. Arslan told the city police that he parked his car (SB 6556) outside a market and went into a mobile phone shop and when returned he found the car disappeared.
