KARACHI – The Petroleum Institute of Pakistan (PIP) organised a strategic workshop presided over by Chairman PIP and Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pakistan Petroleum Limited Asim Murtaza Khan, to address the growing energy crisis in the country on the basis of recommendations in PIP’s 15-year Pakistan Energy Outlook (PEO) document published earlier this year. CEO, PIP Saleem Piracha and representatives of leading up- and downstream oil and gas companies participated in the workshop, says a press release.

In his opening address, the Chairman stressed on PIP’s role as an effective energy sector think-tank, supporting government and industry in Pakistan to develop a progressive and sustainable roadmap to meet present and future challenges. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, he opined, local industry should learn from successful energy models in other countries through collaboration with reputable international institutions and stakeholders.
