ISLAMABAD - Demanding elections in the country, President PML-Q (Likeminded) Senator Salim Saifullah on Sunday said an alliance of PML-N, PML-F, Likeminded and other leagues was in the making.

“The PML-N, PML-Q (Likeminded), PML-F, Awami Muslim League and PML-Z are going to make an alliance soon while they are also in contact with other religio-political parties and other leagues. All these parties will participate in the next general elections from the same platform,” said the senator while addressing a conference on ‘Quaid-e-Azam Ka Pakistan’. He said his meeting with PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif finished with positive results for this alliance.

He demanded of the government to announce general elections after Senate elections. He added that the next general elections should be held under a neutral caretaker government. He was of the view that the current setup had pushed the country into the crises and the continuation of this government might push it into dark. Commenting on the current crises in the government, President PML-Q (Likeminded) said the PPP-led Federal Government was pretending to be innocent.

“If they are really innocent, they should present themselves in people’s court - the results will tell if they are innocent or not,” he said. He said Quaid-e-Azam had envisioned a prosperous and peaceful Pakistan where people enjoyed all basic rights. However, the rulers were making mockery of that vision working against the ideology of great Quaid. “The present government has put the sovereignty of this country at stake and the US and Nato are free to attack on any part of our country,” he said.

Saifullah said Bengalis gave more sacrifices for Pakistan than those living in Eastern Pakistan, however, it was our leaders’ mistake that resulted in the Fall of Dhaka.

The conference was attended by a number of other PML-Q (Likeminded) leaders including Ayub Khan Khatak, Ajab Gul Surani, Rehmat Gul Afridi, Javed Iqbal, Amina Salim and Ziafat Hayat Khan.
