ISLAMABAD - Abid Ali Akbar becomes the crowned champion of the Quaid-e-Azam Day Tennis Championship after thrashing Zain Nawab in straight sets in the one-sided final played here at Islamabad Tennis Complex Thursday.
Abid, who just returned from US was in sublime form as he was in awesome form. Zain was no match to Abid's speed, agility and powerful service and finding it really difficult to match his opponent. Abid won the first set 6-2 as Zain just managed to win two games. But it was completely different story in the second set, as Abid was not in a mood to let Zain off the hook and wrap-up the set by dropping just one game winning the set 6-1, thus pocketing the title in just 45 minutes.
Pakistan Tennis Federation patron, Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas, who is also the vice president of Asian Tennis Federation was the chief guest at the occasion and distributed the prizes among the players and individuals.
