LAHORE -  Like around the world, Christians started celebrating Charismas across the country Thursday. The Christians decided to mark Christmas with simplicity to show solidarity with the bereaved families of Peshawar. At the government level strict orders have been passed to the administration and the law enforcing agencies of every district to ensure foolproof security arrangements at the venue of gathering of Christians.

The Christmas services in all churches and places started at night and continue till morning with intervals. In Lahore services was be held at more than 400 Churches, Chapels and private places by both Catholic and Protestant Christians.

In this connection, a cake cutting ceremony was held at the head office of Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) to express solidarity with the Christian staff members as well as to promote interfaith harmony. PEF employees congratulated the Christian staff on their sacred day and prayed for the wellbeing and prosperity of all the people. Meanwhile, PEF Chairman Engineer Qamarul Islam Raja will visit PEF regional office Multan today (Friday). PEF Regional Director Shafiq Ahmad will brief him about the role and future vision of PEF in promoting gratis education in the southern region of the province.
