SIALKOT - There was no let-up in loadshedding of gas on Thursday in the entire Sialkot district irking the consumers, especially the females who said that situation had become unbearable for them.

The region has been faced with the shortage of gas and also LPG and firewood and people are unable to run their kitchen in the severe cold and dense foggy weather.

Hundreds of perturbed women along with their children again came on the roads for lodging their strong protest against the prolonged loadshedding of gas in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Uggoki, Chawinda, Badiana, Pasrur and surrounding areas.

They held demonstrations against the prolonged loadshedding of gas and shortage of the LPG gas. They were also carrying kitchen items and chanting slogans demanding early end to the gas loadshedding.

The protesters revealed that there was 18 to 20 hours long loadshedding for the domestic consumers while the pressure of gas remains very low during supply due to which they were unable to prepare meals.

Meanwhile, the local shopkeepers and dealers have created artificial shortage of LPG across the region. The shortage was also adding to the miseries of the people hit by prolonged gas loadshedding. Several shopkeepers in these areas sell LPG on exorbitant rates from Rs200 to 250 per kg against the fixed rate of Rs125 per kg by cashing in on the critical situation.

Protests were also held against the shortage and black marketing of LPG. The protesters urged the government authorities to look into the issue and immediately solve it.
