PESHAWAR - Supporting the call of traders and transporters, under the platform of Action Forum, for a shutter-down strike in Peshawar, Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehreek reaffirmed its commitment to work for restoration of durable peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and economic prosperity of its people.
Speaking at a news conference at Press Club here on Thursday, Shahab Khattak Advocate, representative of the Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehreek (POT), a civil society organisation, said that the organisation backs the Action Forum 16/12 call for strike and Black-day on December 31, aims at to condemn terrorists attack on Army Public School, in which 149 students and other staff members were martyred.
"The Olasi Tehreek strongly denounces the killing of innocent school children in terrorists attack on December 16th, he said and termed it 9/11 of the country.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA people rendered numerous sacrifices in the ongoing war against terrorism, he added.
He said the Olasi Tehreek and Action Forum will not tolerate more bloodshed of innocent people anywhere in the country.
Khattak urged the traders and transporters to shut their businesses on December 31, to make successful a wheel-jam strike and shutter down and give a message that the tragic incident in Peshawar would be the last one in provincial capital.
He informed the strike would be peaceful and people will gather near Amn chowk to proceed to Army Public School, wherein they will lit candles in memory of martyred school children, whom lost their lives in terrorist attack.
