LAHORE - Justice Waqar Hassan Mir of Lahore High Court Thursday directed police to execute a sessions court order regarding arrest of two MPAs belonging to the PML-N. Additional District & Sessions Judge Abid Rizwan Abid had earlier ordered the police to arrest MPAs Haji Allah Rakha and Naveed Anjum, allegedly involve in inflicting torture on a woman and grabbing her property. Shaheen Kanwal through her counsel alleged in her petition that police were not acting upon the order of the sessions court. According to her police are using delaying tactics to arrest the MPAs in view of their political influence. She requested the court to direct police to arrest the accused legislators as per order of the session court. She said after the MPAs illegally occupied her land, she moved several complaints to revenue department and police but no action was taken against the accused. She also held a press conference on Oct 6, 2009 to spotlight the activities of the MPAs. But, she said, the accused along with their accomplices reached the Press Club and inflicted tortures upon her. They also threatened the people present in club of the dire consequences when they tried to save her from their clutches. She moved an application to Qila Gujar Singh police, seeking registration of a case against them, but police took no action. However the police registered a case against the MPAs on a courts order.
