PESHAWAR - Another Nato oil container was blown up in a remote-controlled blast at Hazar Khawani Chowak area falls in the limit of the Yakatoot Police Station on Thursday. Source said that the incident occurred in early hours of Thursday, when the bomb planted by unknown persons blew up with a big bang. The driver and guard of the container narrowly escaped the blast while 44-thousand litre petrol had been reduced to ashes. Police said that they had taken the driver Messal Khan and guard Akram into custody to investigate into the matter. SP Peshawar Imran Kishwar said that such type of incidents usually were engineered by the owner of the containers, who secured million of rupees from the US-led forces in Afghanistan. Police registered an FIR of the incident and started investigations into the matter. It is pertinent to mention here that attacks on the oil tankers on the Pak-Afghan Highway had become a routine matter as most of the containers used the routes of the Khyber Agency, Frontier Region Kohat and Ring Road to supply oil to Afghanistan. Hundred of oil tankers have been destroyed by the militants on these routes.
