ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday ordered the Punjab Government to raise pension of the Punjab government employees' widows from 50 to 75 per cent. A three-member bench compromising Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary, Justice Mohammad Sair Ali and Justice Ghulam Rabbani was hearing a suo moto action regarding half pension of widows of retired government servants. Advocate General Punjab, Khawaja Haris, told the court that the Punjab Government had already decided to increase the pension of the government employees' widows to 75 per cent. He said that the provincial government also decided to increase the marriage grant for the daughters of the government servants.
