LAHORE The son of Punjabs former chief minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi and PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi on Friday afternoon visited FIA office to join investigations. However, he was asked to approach competent court to get proper bail. It is pertinent to mention here that FIA had summoned Moonis, an accused in NICL scam, on Saturday (today) after getting bail from the competent court. In its protective bail orders SHC had said since applicant (Moonis) is wiling to appear and surrender before the trial court, the court without prejudice or touching the merits of the case, grants him protective bail for three weeks. He was asked to surrender before the court at the earliest after arriving in Pakistan and move bail application. Members of the investigation team were not present in the office when Moonis attended FIA office, an officer of the Agency said. He added that head of the team additional director general was in Islamabad in connection with some official engagement while two other members were in court who rushed to the office after getting information about PML-Q leaders arrival. Moonis remained at FIA office for about 30 minutes. He got very polite treatment from the investigation team members. FIA team assured him that it was not biased against him and was conducting investigations on the directions of apex court. An investigation officer told Moonis that FIA had no political motives against him. He asked the accused to produce solid evidence to confront charges against him. Agencies add: Speaking to the media representatives, Moonis said he would reveal the names of those involved in the conspiracy in two days. If the FIA have any evidence of my involvement in the case, then they should present it, he said.
