LAHORE - Punjab governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa has said that education is the only way to bring change in the society and young generation should equip itself with the latest scientific knowledge to make Pakistan a prosperous and progressive country.

He was addressing the 2nd convocation at the University of Lahore. Chairman Board of Governors Muhammad Abdul-Rauf, senior faculty members and a large number of students were present at the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said that the present age was the age of knowledge, adding that universities should act as vanguards of change. He added that implementation of the 18th amendment will ensure more fundamental rights to masses including the right to education.

Latif Khosa further said that improvement in standard of education at all levels must be a major priority for Pakistan as no country could progress without it. He also deemed the role of women especially female students a key aspect in national development, adding that the goal of rapid progress could only be achieved through women empowerment.
