KARACHI - Iman Qureshi from Lahore, who shocked seeded Sara Mansoor in the quarterfinals, reached the final of ladies singles after defeating Maheen Dada in three sets in the Subh-e-Nau National Ranking Tennis here on Saturday at the CDGK tennis complex.

Maheen clinched the second set 6-2 after losing the first 6-3 but was beaten in the decider to the visiting player 6-3. In the final, Iman will face Saba Aziz who won her semi-final 6-1, 6-0 against Urooj Iltifat.

In men’s singles, top seed Aqeel Khan is all set to vie for another title victory of when he faces his youngest brother Yasir Khan in the final on Sunday. In the first semi-final, Aqeel thrashed another sibling Jalil Khan. Yasir had to fight hard against Heera Ashiq of Lahore in second semi-final of the day. After losing first set, Heera played well to get the second one. Both players played well in match decider, however, it was Yasir who kept his nerves to win this match.

Aqeel and Jalil proved to be the best against Nomi Qamar and Waqas Malik of Lahore in men’s doubles semi-final. They will play Heera and Yasir in final who qualified for this spot after an easy victory against Hassan Mahmood and Zohair Raza.

Adil Kohari and Ahmed Babar reached in boys’ U-18 final while Dawar Rehan will face Islamabad’s Nofil Kaleem for boys U-14 title.
