OKARA - The PPP-led federal government has completely failed at all fronts while the PML-N always raised a voice to solve public issues and will continue doing so, pledged PML chief Nawaz Sharif while talking to a delegation from Okara at his house.
He was talking to the delegation led by Rao Hussan Sikandar, the son of former defence minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal ( late). “There will be no compromise on interests of the country. The time has come to sea off the government. The nation should get ready for the general elections. The people are chanting slogans. Tall claims of the government will exposed,” he said. “OKara is a stronghold of the PML-N.”
Nawaz said wrong policies of the rulers had jolted the country into crises, adding that all the national institutions were on the bring of destruction. He urged the federal rulers to quit the government. On the occasion, Mr Rao invited Nawaz Sharif to visit Okara to address public gathering. The PML-N chief accepted the invitation.
Dacoits rob locals of valuables: Dacoits took away cash, a licensed rifle and other valuables worth amounting to thousands of rupees in three separate strikes here in and around the City the other day.
As per detail, the dacoits robbed one Rana Iftikhar, a resident of Arazi Shunker Das along with his two salesmen identified as Ghulam Ali and Liaqat Ali when they were on way to Chak 20/GD. The culprits made off with cash and cellphones.
Meanwhile, three armed men snatched a pump action from a local namely Sarfaraz in front of a local hotel on GT Road.
Separately, two motorcyclists opened fire on a police officer who sustained critical injures. According to detail, Tasawwar, a resident of 12/1L was going to his duty place along with a colleague when two motorcyclists attacked them near Depalpur Road. The injured was rushed to the local hospital for medical treatment. The police have registered a case.
