SARGODHA - At least two died and one injured in a collision between a car and a dumper truck here on Sargodha-Bhalwal Road here the other night.
Reportedly, 24-year-old Tauqir, son of Afzal, a resident of 08/NB was heading towards Bhalwal from Sargodha along with his two friends in a car. When they reached near National Fruit Factory, the car hit a dumper MNE-4038 coming from the opposite direction. Resultantly, Tauqir and Qaisar died instantly while Ahmad Faraz, a resident of 13/SB sustained critical injuries. Upon information, the police rushed to the area and shifted the bodies to DHQ Hospital Sargodha for treatment and legal formalities. The dumper driver made good his escape while the police impounded the vehicle.
One gets death: Additional District and Sessions Judge Zia Ullah Khan Niazi on Saturday sentenced a man to death and his two accomplices to life in prison on three counts in the murder case of three persons including two children. The accused received 150 years imprisonment collectively.
According to the prosecution, Ghulam Yasin along with his two accomplices Usman and Shaukat killed his sister’s son seven-year-old Nabeel and nine-year-old Anam and their father (his brother-in-law) Atta Muhammad over a property dispute in Lakmore village on July 10, 2010. The accused also desecrated the dead bodies.
The court after a thorough trial announced the verdict. The court also ordered the accused to pay Rs2 million as compensation to the heirs of the deceased. All three convicted received further 54 years sentence for disgracing the bodies.
