4 die, 10 hurt in shrine bomb attack



SHIKARPUR - Four persons died and 1o other injured when an explosive device planted in the compound of the shrine of Pir Hajan Shah Huzoori at Marri village near here went off Monday.
Police and rescue sources said at least 12 people were injured who were being rushed to the Civil Hospital Shikarpur. The identity of the victims was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, scores of activists of Sunni Tahreek, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Wahdatul Muslimeen and other their organisations staged a protest demonstration on Shikarpur-Sukkur Road against the delaying tactics of police in arresting the culprits involved in attack on spiritual leader Syed Hussain Shah  .
The protesters demanded for early arrest of the culprits. They threatened to launch a big protest movement if their demands were not accepted.
Similarly in Sehwan Sharif, a large number of devotees held a protest demonstration and blocked Indus Highway for over six hours against the attack on the convoy of Pir of Qambar, Syed Ghulam Hussain Shah Bukhari, some days back in Jacobabad.
The protesters led by Dost Mohammad Hussaini and Hamzo Channa blocked the Indus Highway and demanded arrest of the attackers. The road blockage caused immense trouble to the passengers travelling to Hyderabad, Dadu, Larkana and other cities.
The pilgrims of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar also faced great hardships due to traffic jam on one of the main roads of Sindh. The local administration failed to end sit-in. The leader of protesters, Dost Mohammad Hussaini, said that this sit-in would continue for five days.
Separately, SDM Shikarpur Asim Javaid accompanied with SHOs Stuart Gunj and New Faujdari police stations raided two shops situated at Old Market and Rustam Morr and recovered more than 100 kg of expired Indian and Iranian cooking oil and good quantity of Gutka packets.
The shops were sealed and their owners, Rustam Lashari and Deedar Shaikh were arrested. Further investigation was in progress.
