DERA GHAZI KHAN - PML-N MNA Hamza Shahbaz said that the Punjab government always strived hard for making the country attain self-sufficiency and will transform it into a dignified, vibrant and welfare state of the world if the masses voted the PML-N into power in the upcoming general elections.
Hamza Shahbaz was addressing the distribution ceremony of laptops, solar lamps, scholarships under Punjab Endowment Educational Fund, internship certificates and ownerships rights among dwellers of Katchi Abadis here at Government Postgraduate College here on Monday.
He claimed that the PML-N would overcome the electricity and gas crisis which he said had crippled the national economy.
Hamza Shahbaz pointed out that role of the youth who were 64 per cent of the total population would be decisive in the upcoming general elections, adding that the masses should elect such leaders who may dedicate themselves for the public welfare rather than promoting own political career.
The PML-N MNA pledged that the Punjab government would not only facilitate the poor students for higher education but would also award them scholarships if the party came into power.
He asserted that Rs2.5 billion solar lamps under Ujala Programme were being distributed among brilliant students besides scholarships worth Rs10 billion among 50,000 students under the Punjab Endowment Educational Fund.
Addressing the ceremony Senior Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa said that site for the proposed Ghazi University had been selected with the approval of its design while the construction would be started during the new fiscal year.
MNA Mrs Shehnaz Saleem Malick, MPA Sardar Dost Mohammad Khan Khosa, PML-Q MPA Sardar Fateh Mohammad Khan Buzdar, Sardar Hassamuddin Khosa, Hafiz Abdul Kareem, Zeeshan Haider Leghari, Mir Mirza Khan Talpur and other personalities were present on the occasion.
Later, on MNA Hamza Shahbaz also visited the newly-completed Daanish School where he was welcomed by the commissioner and other administrative officers.
