It is for the Prime Minister and Pakistan Army COAS to decide if they want Pakistan to become a modern state or a theocratic state! It is imperative to separate religion from politics if Pakistan wants a place among the rest the comity of nations otherwise it will become a pariah state. Prime Minister made a humongous mistake by holding talks with the enemies of the state, the Taliban; you don’t talk with such an irrational group of gun tooting thugs – you crush them!
Pakistan Army had all the capabilities to eradicate this menace but held back their power. Now the majority of Pakistanis are sick and tired of living in fear and want their basic right to life to be protected by the state. Prime Minister should lead the nation in supporting the Armed Forces and motivating the people instead of following the policy of appeasement and allowing the militants time to save their skin and run away from their area into hideouts.
