ISLAMABAD - Pakistan People’s Party yesterday urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to quit after Daska bye-polls were nullified by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bokhari said that rigging had been exposed in the Daska polls so the government must be held responsible for misuse of power. “The federal and the Punjab government are responsible for the rigging in the bye-polls. The PM and CM (Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar) should quit,” he said in a statement.

He said the government was in tatters, support has been taken away and now Imran Khan is struggling to run the country.

Bokhari said there had been revolts in the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf against Imran Khan from Sindh to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The party and the alliance which were based on oppression were destined to break, he added.

The PPP leader said the nation was fed up with Imran Khan’s false promises, and now his own party members had started revolting.
