President likely to visit Bahrain soon

ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari is most likely to visit Bahrain as King Hamad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al- Khalifa has invited him. To further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries Commander National Guards of Bahrain Lt Gen Sheikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa communicated the invitation when he called on the President at Presidency on Tuesday. He delivered a letter of invitation from the King of Bahrain. Ambassador of Bahrain to Pakistan Mohammad Ebrahim Mohammad Abdul Qadir also accompanied the commander. Matters relating to Pak-Bahrain bilateral relations, defence cooperation and the shared perceptions on host of issues of peace, development and regional security were discussed along with the need to enhance trade ties. Zardari emphasised upon further enhancing trade relations and extending mutual cooperation in the realm of defence, labour and manpower as the existing bilateral trade is well below the real potential. He stre-ssed the need for regular meetings of the Pakistan- Bahrain Joint Economic Commission to boost bilateral trade and investment. He also invited Bahraini businessmen to benefit from the attractive incentives offered by the govt.
