ATHENS - Greek film director Theo Angelopoulos whose long, meditative films won him a clutch of top international awards including the Palme d'Or at Cannes, has died aged 76 after a road accident. Angelopoulos succumbed to a brain haemorrhage at a hospital near the port city of Piraeus outside Athens late Tuesday after he was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a street.
