PESHAWAR : At least 10 people were killed and three others sustained injured when a jeep fell into a deep ravine in district Chitral on Saturday. The passenger jeep with about 12 people onboard was on its way from Shogram locality to Chitral city, when it fell into a deep ravine at Maroi area owing to over speeding. It has been learnt that the 12-member delegation was attending a jirga in the city. On receiving information, local police and volunteers rushed to the scene and retrieved the bodies and injured after hectic efforts.

Subsequently, ten people identified as Muhammad Ishaq, Saidullah, Amanullah, Wazir Ahmed, Javed Ahmed, Sardar Zaman Khan, Farhatullah, Faliqoos, Jamil Ahmed and Gul Ahmed were killed on the spot while Naseerullah and Nadir Lal sustained injuries.

Three of the killed were identified as bothers Sardar Zaman, Jamil Ahmed and Gul Ahmed. The injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Chitral where the condition was stated to be critical.
