At least 11 persons including a woman were killed and 17 others injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and mishaps over the past 48 hours.

According to details, in Sargodha, a man was killed over a trivial issue in the remit of Midh Ranjha Police.

According to details, the cellphone of Fareedullah, a resident of village Nasserpur went missing. He, however, levelled allegation on Zulfiqar and his friend. Both the persons flared up over the allegations and started indiscriminate firing over Fareedullah. Resultantly he sustained critical gunshot wounds and died on the spot. The accused fled away from the crime scene.

In Jhang, a trader of Yousaf Shah Road was gunned down here the other evening. As per details, one Zafar Iqbal, a shopkeeper was going on his bike along with his two minor sons. On the way he stopped to collect some documents from his shop situated on Yousaf Shah Road. As soon as he opened door of his shop two unidentified armed motorcyclist opened indiscriminate firing, killing him on the spot. Reason behind the murder is said to be a civil litigation. The Kutwali Police have registered a case against unidentified culprits.

Similarly, in Sheikhupura the charred body of an unidentified woman was found lying in a field adjacent to village Bhikki here. On information, the Bhikki Police reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. The police, however, suspected the woman had been raped and later set on fire. Identity of the deceased could not be ascertained yet.

In another incident 18-year-old Adil died after being hit by a speeding two-wheeler on Lahore Road near Mission Colour. The deceased was crossing the road when a motorcyclist Azeem knocked him down. However, the motorcycle himself sustained serious injuries and was referred to Mayo Hospital Lahore in precarious condition.

In Hafizabad, a young man in Mohallah Dhabwala committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house.

According to police source, 30-year-old Zaheer Abbas was an addict and his parents admonished him which annoyed him resultantly he decided to put an end to his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan. He died before any medical aid could be provided to him.

In Rahim Yar Khan, a person died after consuming poisonous liquor in Zahirpeer, some 80-km from here.

As per details, Nadeem, a resident of Fatahpur Kamal consumed liquor due to which his condition tuned deteriorated. He was rushed to a local hospital but he could not survive. The police have registered a case.

Meanwhile, a speeding truck crushed to death two motorcyclists here on Saturday. The accident occurred when a goods-laden speeding truck hit a motorcycle, carrying two persons, near Musa Nagar area. Resultantly, both the motorcyclists were killed on the spot while the driver managed to escape from the scene.

The police impounded the truck and started search for the driver. In Dera Ghazi Khan, three persons were killed and 13 others injured in a collision between two vehicles here on Saturday.

As per details, the accident took place in Jampur area of Dera Ghazi Khan where a passenger bus collided head-on with a trailer. As a result of accident one person was killed on the spot while 15 others sustained wounds. The rescue personnel shifted the injured to hospital where two more wounded people expired during treatment raising the death toll to three.

Hospital sources said that condition of some other injured people was also serious and it was feared that death toll could rise further.
