FAISALABAD

The district administration in collaboration with Faisalabad Arts Council held a Naat recitation competition at the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium. DCO Noorul Amin Mengal and MNA Begum Khalida Mansur were chief guests on the occasion. Arts Council’s Tariq Javed, EDO CD Asif Tarar and other officers and citizens including women and girls participated in these competitions.

As much as 38 women took part in competitions. According to the judges, Samreen Akram got the first position and won prize of Rs100,000 in cash while Bushra Fatima got second position and awarded cash prize Rs50 thousands. Saba Noreen stood 3rd and was awarded cash prize of Rs25 thousands. Kausar Ali Gill, Falak Sher Nagra and Abid Hameed acted as judges.

On the occasion, the DCO said that such events on Uswa-e-Hasna are very much significant and the participants of such events receive showering of Almighty Allah.  He congratulated the participants of the competitions and added that the district administration would continue such pious events and hold competitions in other fields.

MNA Begum Khalida Mansur congratulated the DCO for holding the event and lauded the Naat Khawan. She stressed a need for setting up an academy for imparting training in Naat Khawani. The RD Arts Council said that a Naat competition will be held on January 27 and those getting first, second and third position respectively be awarded Rs10,000, 50,000 and 25,000 in cash.
